Red Cliff, Wis --- The Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College, in collaboration with Mino Bimaadiziiwin, the Red Cliff Fish Company, and the Bayfield School District bring to the community the 'Food for Thought' Summer Camp 2021.
All boys and girls entering grades 7th through 12th were invited to attend the 'Food for Thought' Summer Camp. Participants will learn all aspects of sustainable agriculture. Sustainable agricultural practices include the 'Grandfather Teachings', traditional foraging, commercial food production and so much more.
In a conversation with organizer Savanna Basina, she goes on to state, "The 'Food for Thought' Summer Camp will have students rendering bear fat with medicines we harvest. Students will also learn how to make hominy and fillet white fish, in addition to other cultural harvesting activities."
